“As much as I love working marble, in bronze I’ve found an artistic freedom I never expected or experienced while working stone. The original piece can be constructed from a variety of materials allowing for a flexibility that’s impossible to achieve with a single medium. Clay, stone, wood, plaster and much more; each has unique characteristics that can be combined in the original piece. Once done, a mold is made that allows the casting of a sculpture in a single material – like bronze. Truly liberating, I wish I had used this material and the many associated techniques years earlier.”
